Village Plan Questionnaire

This is the questionnaire for the Wheathampstead Village Plan.  If you live or work in Wheathampstead and would like your views about the village to be heard, please complete this questionnaire and return it to the parish council office.

Planning for Wheathampstead's future.

A team has been formed in Wheathampstead with the aim of creating a Village Plan, to set out the shared vision of the local community and influence the future priorities of Wheathampstead.  The Village Plan will help to prioritise local resources and be used as evidence of need when applying for funding for initiatives to enhance Wheathampstead's economic, social and environmental wellbeing and move towards being a sustainable community (e.g. traffic calming, improved local shops, better transport links, facilities for young people, etc, etc etc...).

Village Plan Committee Chair, Cllr. Lisa Hobden, states, "This is an opportunity for the whole community to have a say in the future of Wheathampstead and to influence how local funds are spent to improve all aspects of local life.  Village Plans are part of the Government's 'active citizenship' policy, all about giving more power to local people. It's our community – let's all plan how we would like it to be in the future!"

Launch Event

The Plan will be based solely on information collected from public consultation exercises, such as questionnaires, surveys and interviews with local stakeholders.  The first opportunity to get involved in this initiative is the Launch Event at the Memorial Hall, Marford Road, Wheathampstead on Sunday November 18th from midday until 2pm.  The event will be a chance to find out more about the Village Plan, have an informal chat with committee members, give your opinion on what the focus for Wheathampstead's future should be, and even find out how you can volunteer to help.
