Mary Ellen KING

1. Mary Ellen KING was born on 1 September 1896 at 19 Gustard Wood Common, Wheathampstead. She was daughter of Alfred KING and Lucy MUNT.  She was christened on 25 October 1896 in St. Helen's Parish Church.  She was a pupil-teacher at Gustard Wood National School (branch) about 1908. She caddied at Gustard Wood Gulf Course. She was a domestic servant at Ashwell House, Verulam Road, St. Albans in 1910. She was confirmed on 13 April 1911 and received First Holy Communion on 16 April 1911 in St. Helen's Parish Church.  She was a domestic servant at Codicote Lodge, Welwyn Hitchin Road, Codicote in 1915, at Rothamsted Manor in 1918, and at Schwick Place, Elstree in 1919.  She met Will HOLDFORD who was at F.M.S. Hospital, Blackmore End, Gustard Wood, and they were married at St. Helenís Church on 3 July 1920. They immigrated to the United States on 11 September 1920 and settled in Youngstown, Ohio.  She became a U.S. citizen on 26 May 1927.  She returned to England to visit relatives in 1929, 1937, 1962, and 1965. During WWII she sent clothing and care packages to her relatives in England.  She died on 21 August 1970.

Ancestors level 1

2.  Alfred KING was born on 1 July 1862 in Wheathampstead and was baptized on 27 July 1862 at St. Helen's Parish Church.  He was 8 years old at Hog Island, Gustard Wood in 1871 census.  He was an agricultural labourer until 1896 and the one outstanding common characteristic of agricultural labourers was that they were all poor.  He was a builder's laborer between 1896 and 1935.  His son was killed in battle in 1915. Alfred attended the Wheathampstead War Memorial dedication at St. Helen's Parish Church in 1920.  He was a carpenter refurbishing the cellars of J.W. Green's Brewery in Luton  circa 1937.  He died at 77 years old on 10 March 1940 at Oster House, St. Albans. He married Lucy MUNT on 9 January 1887 at St. Helen's Parish Church in the presence of Thomas Latchford & Ellen Latchford.

3.  Lucy MUNT was born on 28 November 1868 in Cherry Trees, Lower Luton Road. She was baptized on 27 December 1868 at St. Helen's Parish Church.  Her whereabouts are not known in the 1871 and 1881 census. She was 19 years old in Gustard Wood when she married.  She was 58 years old on 8 October 1927 when she died in Gustard Wood.  Alfred KING and Lucy MUNT had the following children:

i. Alfred William KING was baptized on 29 May 1887.    He was a private in 2nd Battalion, Bedfordshire Regiment, and it was assigned to 21st Brigade in 7th Division at Lyndhurst, Hampshire.  On 7 October 1914, the battalion landed in France and Flanders at Zeebrugge, Belgium.  He might have joined B Company, which was based at St Albans and had a shooting range close to Hammonds Farm, Sandridge. Their first experience of large-scale casualties was at the Battle of Festubert in May 1915, and it may be that this is where he was killed. He was buried in Godezonne Farm Cemetery, Kemmel, Ieper, West Valaanderen, Belgium Grave Reference/Panel Number:  I. D. 3.  In Memory of A W KING: Private, 18814, 2nd Bn., Bedfordshire Regiment, who died on Saturday, 8th May 1915. Age 33 

ii. Frederick KING was baptized on 28 October 1888 in St. Helen's Parish Church.  He was a chauffeur for owner of Heath & Heather Ltd, herb specialist of St. Albans in 1937. He lived at 28 Station Approach, Ridgemont Road, St. Albans in 1940.  About 1962 he lived in 49 St. Leonards Crescent, Sandridge and in 3 Cotlandswick, London Colney.  He died after 1969.

iii. Lucy KING was baptized on 27 July 1890 in St. Helen's Parish Church.  She was 58 when she died at 19 Gustard Wood Common on 5 October 1948.

iv. Charles John KING was baptized on 29 November 1891 in St. Helen's Parish Church and was buried on 21 December 1891.

v. Mary Ellen KING.

vi. Albert Edward KING was baptized on 30 November 1902 in St. Helen's Parish Church.  He lived at Old Reasons Farm, Wheathampstead in 1925, at Bracey's Cottage, Gustard Wood in 1927, at Pretoria Cottages, near the Tin Pot in Gustard Wood in 1932, in Brewhouse Hill, Wheathampstead in 1940, at Flat 59, Hall Gardens in Colney Heath after 1962.  He died after 1969.

vii. Ernest Charles KING was baptized on 25 March 1905 in St. Helen's Parish Church.  Circa 1914 he broke his leg and developed a deformed leg and was lame all his life.  He left school at 13 years; he went to work at Fred Wrights Cucumber glasshouses.  In cucumber season he worked to late at night packing cucumbers in boxes ready for market.  He then went home to sleep to the early hours.  Then up & accompany the lorry to Convent Garden Market in London.  During the summer when the water levels were low in the wells he had to go down a ladder in the side of the well & clean the walls.  He resided in Kimpton between 1940 and 1956.  He died on 25 March 1956.

viii. Sidney George KING was baptized on 29 March 1908 in St. Helen's Parish Church.  He died of scarlet fever complicated by diphtheria in Gustard Wood in 1922.

ix. Bertram KING was baptized on 27 November 1910 in St. Helen's Parish Church.  He lived in Gustard Wood in 1932, in 21 Harvey Road, London Collney, St. Albans, and in Flat 5G, Hall Gardens, Colney Heath, St. Albans in 1962.  He lived at 153 St. Alban's Road, Sandridge, in 1984.  He died about 1987.

4.  William KING was baptized on 26 March 1820 in Wheathampstead Parish. He resided in Bishops Hatfield on 13 October 1845.  He was an agricultural labourer in Hamwell between 1851 and 1857.  Hamwell is now Amwell.  He lived at Cottage No. 136 on 22 October 1852. In 1861 census his home was Village Cottages in Wheathampstead, next to village bake house, Thomas Wilsher, journeyman baker.  William was a railway gatekeeper.  He was a labourer at Hog Island, Gustard Wood in the census of 1871 and 1881. He died on 25 December 1882 in Hog Island.  He married Mary FRENCH on 13 October 1845 in St. Helen's Parish Church in presence of Wm French & Phobe Stevens.

5.  Mary FRENCH was born on 31 December 1821 in Hamwell.  She was a plaiter at home when she married.   She died of fever, certified, on 11 January 1866.  William KING and Mary FRENCH had the following children:

i.William KING was baptized on 1 November 1846. He was a 34 years old agricultural labour in Abbotts Langley in 1881 census. He died after 1881.

ii. James KING was born about 1848.  He was a 13-year-old agricultural laborer in Wheathampstead in 1861 census.  He died after 1861.

iii. Charles KING was born about 1855 in Hamwell.  He was a 16 year-old laborer in Hog Island, Gustard Wood in 1871 census.  He died 1871.

iv. Henry KING was born about 1857 in Hamwell.  He was a 14 years-old labourer in Hog Island, Gustard Wood in 1871 census.  He was in Derby, birthplace of son, Walter, in 1880.  He was a 34 years-old bricklayer's labourer in High Street, Wheathampstead in 1891 census.  He died in Gustard Wood on 17 October 1912.

v. Mary KING died between 1861 and 1871.

vi. Alfred KING.

vii. Elizabeth KING was baptized on 5 April 1864 in St. Helen's Parish Church.  She was her fatherís housekeeper in 1881 census.  She married Henry CHAPMAN on 3 February 1883.  They resided in Nomansland in 1896.  She died on 3 December 1927.

 

6.  Arthur MUNT was born on 20 June 1846 in Cherry Trees, Lower Luton Road.   He was a 24 years-old unemployed farm labour at the home of his sister in 1871 census. It is not known when he died. He married Mercy CARTER on 3 November 1866 in St. Helen's Parish Church.

7.  Mercy CARTER was born on 24 January 1847 in Gustard Wood.  She was 20 years in Gustard Wood when she married.  She was in Cherry Trees, Lower Luton Road on 28 November 1868.  Her whereabouts in the 1871 census is unknown.  She was a widow in Gustard Wood when she married David ARCHER on 28 April 1878.    She was a 33 years old plaiter in Gustard Wood in 1881 census.  She was a living on her own in The Folly, Lower Luton Road in 1891 census.  She died at 72 years in The Folly on 14 December 1918.  Arthur MUNT and Mercy CARTER had the following children:

 i. Owen Edwin MUNT was baptized on 28 April 1867 in St. Helen's Parish.  He was with his mother and stepfather in 1881 census.  He was a painter in Batford on 25 March 1919.  He died on 9 December 1945 at Glenfield, Lower Luton Road, Harpenden.

8.  John KING was baptized on 28 September 1794 in Wheathampstead Parish.  He lived in Sandridge on 22 September 1815.  He died on 13 November 1827 in Batford, Wheathampstead. His marriage banns were given from 28 May 1815 to 11 Jun 1815 in Sandridge.  He married Mary DAWSON on 22 September 1815 in Wheathampstead Parish in presence of Wm King and Eliz ?

9.  Mary DAWSON was born about 1789 in Wheathampstead Parish.  She died about 1831 in Wheathampstead Parish.  John KING and Mary DAWSON had the following known children:

i. Eliza KING was baptized on 5 July 1818 and buried on 26 July 1818.

ii. William KING.

iii. George KING was born in 1822 in Batford and baptized on a 26 May 1822.

iv. Charlette KING was baptized on 5 December 1824.

v. Sarah KING was baptized on 4 Mar 1827 and buried on 27 November 1827.

 

10.  William FRENCH was baptized on 11 May 1794 in Kimpton.  He was a laborer on 24 April 1833 in Hamwell.  He lived at Jas Mardall's house between 1837 and 1841 in Wheathampstead.  He died on 1 September 1842 of decline (tuberculosis) in Wheathampstead.  He was an agricultural laborer.  He married Sarah SIMPKINS on 4 May 1815 in Kimpton.

11.  Sarah SIMPKINS was baptized on 15 October 1797 in St. Helen's Parish Church.  She resided between 1801 and 1864 in Hamwell.  She lived at house owned by Mr. Carter between 1837 and 1841.  She lived in a cottage was that was beside her son-in-law's, Wm King on 26 April 1850 in Hamwell.  She was a straw plaiter at William, her sonís home in Hamwell in 1851 census.  She was a 63-year-old widow and housekeeper at the house of Susan Willchen on Luton Road in 1861 census.  She died of fever on 23 September 1864 in Wheathampstead Village.  William FRENCH and Sarah SIMPKINS had the following children:

i. William Matthews FRENCH was baptized on 23 November 1817 in Kimpton.  He was an agricultural laborer from 1841 to 1861 in Hamwell. He was a 63 years old farm laborer in Nomansland in 1881 census.  He died and was buried on 14 May 1887 in St. Helen's Parish Church.

ii. Mary FRENCH.

iii. Sarah FRENCH was born on 23 January 1825 in Hamwell and was baptized on 20 Mar 1825.  She died and was buried on 22 June 1825.

iv. James FRENCH was born on 12 October 1830 in Hamwell.   He was an agricultural laborer from 1841 to 1871.  He died at 51 years on 18 May 1880 in The Folly, Lower Luton Road.

v. John FRENCH was baptized on 14 November 1830 in Hamwell.

vi. Elizabeth FRENCH was born on 22 March 1833 in Hamwell.  She was baptized on 24 April 1833 in Hamwell. She died after 1855.

 

12.  Matthew MUNT was christened on 13 April 1806 in Caddington, Bedfordshire.  He was an agricultural labourer from 1831 to 1861.  He resided in Marshalls Heath, Luton Road on 13 March 1831.  He resided on 11 December 1836 in Gustard Wood.  He lived in Ed Burton Jr & Sr house in Gustard Wood in 1837/38.    He lived in Mrs. Thrale's house in The Folly, Lower Luton Road in 1841. He lived in Cottage No. 173 in Cherry Trees, Lower Luton Road on 26 April 1850.  He was 46 years in Cherry Trees, Lower Luton Road in 1851 census.  He lived in the home of his daughter, Elizabeth in Cherry Trees, Lower Luton Road in 1871 census.  He was a farm laborer.  He died at 74 years on 22 January 1877 in Cherry Trees, Lower Luton Road.  Informant was Mary Carter (nťe Cobb), Gustard Wood. He married Rebecca HALES/HALL on 3 May 1828 in St. Peter's, St Albans.

13.  Rebecca HALES/HALL was baptized on 26 August 1804 in Kensworth Parish, Bedfordshire.  She died of Liver Complaint on 6 February 1865 in Cherry Trees, Lower Luton Road.  Informant was Mary Hains or Hawes, Cherry Trees.  Matthew MUNT and Rebecca HALES/HALL had the following children:

i. David MUNT was christened on 3 May 1829 in Harpenden.  He died on 3 November 1837.

ii. William MUNT was born in Feb 1831 in Marshalls Heath.  He was christened on 13 March 1831 in St. Helen's Parish Church.  He died after 1865.

iii. Emma MUNT was born in Mar 1833 in Marshalls Heath, Luton Road and was christened on 14 April 1833 in St. Helen's Parish Church.  She died between 1841 and 1851.

iv. Henry MUNT was born on 4 December 1834 in Marshalls Heath and was baptized on 11 January 1835 in St. Helen's Parish Church.  He died in 1837.

v. Sarah Ann MUNT was born on 8 November 1836 in Gustard Wood and was christened on 11 December 1836 in St. Helen's Parish Church.  She was a 14 year-old bonnet sewer in Cherry Trees in 1851 census. She died after 1851.

vi. Mary MUNT was born on 3 January 1839 in Gustard Wood and was christened on 10 February 1839 in St. Helen's Parish Church.  She was a straw plaiter on 30 Mar 1851 in Cherry Trees, Lower Luton Road in 1851 census. She died after 1851.

vii. Eliza MUNT was born on 2 April 1841 and was christened on 9 May 1841 in St. Helen's Parish Church.  She was a straw plaiter on 30 March 1851 in Cherry Trees, Lower Luton Road, Wheathampstead, Hertfordshire, England.  She was 10 years on 30 Mar 1851 in Cherry Trees, Lower Luton Road.  She died on 11 Jul 1863 in , Wheathampstead, Hertfordshire, England.  She was 22 years on 11 Jul 1863 in , Wheathampstead, Hertfordshire, England.

viii. Elizabeth MUNT was born in 1841 in The Folly, Lower Luton Road and was christened on 26 March 1841 in St. Helen's Parish Church.  She was a straw plaiter between 1871 and 1881 in Cherry Trees, Lower Luton Road.  She died after1881.

ix. Abraham MUNT was born on 13 Jun 1845 and baptized on 16 Jun 1846. He died before 1851 in Cherry Trees, Lower Luton Road.

x. Arthur MUNT.

xi. George MUNT was born on 16 June 1849 in Cherry Trees.  He was christened on 15 July 1849.  He was a general laborer from 1881 to 1891 in Cherry Trees.  He was at home of his sister, Elizabeth in Cherry Trees in 1881 census.  He was 31 years.  He died on 7 February 1918 in Cherry Trees.

 

14.  George CARTER was baptized on 9 May 1813 in St. Helen's Parish Church.  He resided in Gustard Wood between 1814 and 1869.  He lived in Cottage No. 228 in Gustard Wood on 26 April 1850.  He was an agricultural labourer between 1851 and 1869.  George Carter, alias 'Smashum', was convicted of assaulting and beating Mary, his wife in 1860, but the Bench, not wishing to bring suffering to his family, fined him 1/13 costs.  He couldnít pay and was imprisoned at Hertford Goal for the eleventh time.  He died of disease of liver, dropsy on 28 March 1869 in Gustard Wood.  He married Mary COBB on 2 February 1839 in St. Helen's Parish Church.  He signed his name on the entry of marriage.  Mary Cobb signed with her mark (X).

15.  Mary COBB was baptized on 20 November 1814 in Sandridge.  She was a plaiter on 2 February 1839.  She lived in Gustard Wood between 1851 and 1907.  She was a nursemaid in 1881.  She lived in a house next to Alfred King and Lucy Munt in Gustard Wood in 1891 census.  She was 78 years and living on her own.  Her g. granddaughters, Lucy KING and Mary Ellen KING, slept in her house when they became too old to sleep in their house.  There was only 1bedroom at 19 Gustard Wood. She died of Senile Decay on 4 August 1907.  Informant was Charles Carter, son, Gustard Wood. George CARTER and Mary COBB had the following children:

i. Caroline CARTER was born on 27 May 1839 and baptized on 7 July 1839.  She was a straw-plaiter in Gustard Wood in 1851 and 1861 census.  She died after 1861.

ii. Sarah CARTER was christened on 21 February 1847.  She was a straw plaiter in 1851 and 1861 census.  She married William SWAIN before 1869.  She was a sewer in Gustard Wood in 1871 census.  She was a plaiter in The Folly, Lower Luton Road in 1881 census.   She died on 24 August 1914 in Gustard Wood.

iii. Mercy CARTER.

iv. William CARTER was christened on 5 May 1850. He was an agricultural laborer between 1871 and 1891 in The Folly.  He died on 23 February 1924 in The Folly.

v. Henry CARTER was christened on 1 Feb 1853.  He was 27years old in Cotmanhay, Derbyshire in 1881 census.  He died after 1881.

vi. Charles CARTER was christened on 11 July 1858.  He was an agricultural laborer between 1871 and 1891.  He was a groom in St Albans in 1881census.  He was the licensee of Cricketers public house, Gustard Wood Common between 1895 and 1910.  He was a member of Wheathampstead Parish Council in 1906.  He lived at Gustard Wood between 1907 and 1932 in Gustard Wood.  He died on 31 October 1932 in Gustard Wood.

17.  Ann GILES was born before 1770.  In 1837 she lived in a house in Wheathampstead owned by Jas Mardall.  She died and was buried on 19 May 1838 in Wheathampstead.  She was 64.  James KING and Ann GILES had the following children:

i. Philip KING was baptized on 19 May 1793 in Wheathampstead.  He was buried on 10 February 1829 in St. Peter's, St Albans.  He was 36.

ii. John KING.

iii. Eliza KING was baptized on 20 March 1796 and died on 20 January 1799.

iv. William KING was baptized on 19 November 1797.  Between 1837 and 1841 he lived at house on Brewhouse Hill, Wheathampstead owned by Mrs. Parott.  He died after 1841.

v. Martha KING was baptized on 6 July 1800.  She died after 1822.

vi. George KING was baptized on 19 September 1802.

vii. James KING was baptized on 8 April 1804.

viii. Charlette KING was baptized on 23 December 1805.

ix. Charles KING was baptized on 15 May 1808.

x. Diana KING was baptized on 10 October 1813.  She died after 1835.

25.  Sarah GRAY was christened on 5 October 1783 in Caddington.  She died on 29 January 1823 in Harpenden.  Thomas MUNT and Sarah GRAY had the following children:

i. Mary MUNT was christened on 26 December 1802 in Caddington.  She died after 1828.

ii. Matthew MUNT.

iii. Elizabeth MUNT was christened on 15 January 1804 in Caddington.  She died after 1821.

iv. Thomas MUNT was christened on 11 September 1808 in Caddington.  He was buried on 1 September 1850 in Harpenden.

v. Sarah MUNT was baptized on 28 March 1813 in Harpenden.  She resided in Sandridge about 1842.  She lived on Old London Road, St. Albans in 1851.  She died after 1851.

vi. Dina MUNT was born about 1815 in Harpenden and died on 19 August 1820.

vii. William MUNT was born on 22 August 1819 in Harpenden and died on 14 July 1820.

viii. George MUNT was born about 1822.

ix.  Martha MUNT was baptized on 24 February 1811 and was buried on 13 August 1820.

x. Hannah MUNT was baptized in 1815 in Harpenden.

 

26.  Thomas HALL/HALE died after 1852.  He lived at Cottage No. 144 on 22 October 1852 in Hamwell. He married Mary.

27.  Mary died after 1804.  Thomas HALL/HALE and Mary had the following known child:

i. Rebecca HALES/HALL.

 

28.  William CARTER was born on 9 December 1776 and baptized on 5 January 1777 in St. Helen's Parish Church.  He was a carpenter between 9 May 1813 and 6 Jun 1841 in Gustard Wood.  He received relief as laboring poor on 11 February 1818.  He voted in 1832 in Gustard Wood.  Paid 1/6 because he was a property owner.  He resided on 13 April 1837 in Gustard Wood.  Paid 1/1 because he was a property owner.  He lived at Gustard Wood Common between 1841 and 1851.  He was 80 when he died of bronchitis on 29 November 1857 in Union House, St. Albans.  He was buried on 2 December 1857.  He married Mary OLDS.

29.  Mary OLDS was born about 1780.  She was a plaiter in Gustard Wood in 1841 census.  She died of decay of nature on 4 March 1848.  She was 69.    William CARTER and Mary OLDS had the following children:

i. Joseph CARTER was born on 1 April 1802 and baptized on 2 May 1802 in St. Helen's Parish Church.

ii. Susan CARTER was born on 26 June 1803 in Gustard Wood.  She was baptized on 17 July 1803 in St. Helen's Parish Church.  She was buried on 16 November 1826 in St. Helen's Parish Church.  She was 23.  She was also known as Susannah Carter.

iii. Anna CARTER was born on 16 May 1805 and christened on 23 June 1805 in St. Helen's Parish Church.

iv. William CARTER was born on 6 December 1807.  He was baptized on 3 January 1808.  He was an agricultural laborer in Gustard Wood between 1841 and 1861.  He died on 18 February 1872 in Gustard Wood.  He was 65. 

v. George CARTER.

vi. Sarah CARTER.

vii. James CARTER was born on 7 January 1823.  He was baptized on 15 June 1823.  He was an agricultural labourer in Gustard Wood between 1841 and 1846.  He resided in Brewhouse Hill, Wheathampstead on 26 April 1850.

 

30.  Benjamin COBB was born about 1783 in Sandridge.  He was baptized on 27 April 1783.  He was a husbandman from 1810 to 1817 in Sandridge.  He was a labourer from 1818 to 1829 in Sandridge.  He was buried on 4 May 1829 in Sandridge.  He was 45 years old.  His marriage banns were announced on the three Sundays: on Sunday, the 5th Day of June 1803; on Sunday, the 12th day of June 1803; and on Sunday, the 19th day of June 1803.  He married Susanna ROBINSON on 9 July 1803 in Sandridge in the presence of John Parsons and John Browncell.

31.  Susanna ROBINSON was born in Sandridge.  She lived at Mr. Carter's house in Wheathampstead between 1837 and 1841.  She died of dropsy, 6 months, certified on 17 September 1849 in Gustard Wood.  She was 63.  Benjamin COBB and Susanna ROBINSON had the following children:

i. Charles COBB was born about 1806 and died in Sandridge about 1822.

ii. Caroline COBB was baptized on 13 December 1807 in Sandridge.

iv. William COBB was baptized on 22 November 1812 in Sandridge.  He was a 68 years old agricultural labourer in St. Peter's, St Albans in 1881 census.  He died after 1881.

vi. James COBB was baptized on 10 March 1816 in Sandridge.

vii. Ann COBB was buried on 5 January 1817.

viii. Sarah COBB was baptized on 24 May 1818 in Sandridge.

ix. John COBB was baptized on 3 June 1821 and buried on 22 October 1821.

x. Susanna COBB was baptized on 16 January 1824 in Sandridge.  She was buried on 5 October 1825 in Gustard Wood.

xi. Benjamin COBB was baptized on 6 December 1829 in Sandridge, Hertfordshire.  He was a 12-year-old agricultural laborer in Gustard Wood in 1841 census.  He died on 22 May 1902 in Gustard Wood.

56.  William CARTER was born on 11 December 1738 and baptized on 24 December 1738 in St. Helen's Parish Church.  He was a sawyer about 1773.  He received relief from parish in Wheathampstead on 30 October 1789.  He was buried on 16 May 1817 in St. Helen's Parish Church.  He was 81 years.  He was also known as William Carter Jr.  He was also known as Willem Carter.  He married Rebecca JEFFRY on 6 September 1764 in St. Helen's Parish Church.

57.  Rebecca JEFFRY received relief as working poor in Wheathampstead on 11 February 1818.  She was buried on 21 June 1834 in St. Albans.  She was 101 years.  Many people didn't their age.  She was also known as Rebaccer Jeffries.  She was also known as Reabecka.  William CARTER and Rebecca JEFFRY had the following children:

i. Catherine CARTER was born on 13 July 1766 and baptized on 23 November 1766 in St. Helenís Church .  She was also known as Cathern Carter.

ii. Susan CARTER was born on 22 August 1768 and was baptized on 25 September 1768.  She was also known as Susana.

iii. William CARTER.

iv. Jane CARTER was born on 29 July 1779 and was baptized on 15 August 1779.

v. Sarah CARTER was born on 23 Jun 1781 and baptized on 16 September 1781 in St. Helen's Parish Church.  She died after 1804.

 

58.  John OLDS resided in Harpenden in 1778.  He died after 1778.  There is no documentation that Mary OLDS's father was named John.  He was married to Hannah on 22 January 1778.

59.  Hannah resided in Wheathampstead in 1778.  She died after 1778.  John OLDS and Hannah had the following child:

i. Mary OLDS.

 

60.  John COBB resided in Sandridge on 27 April 1783.  He died in St Albans and buried on 2 April 1823 in Sandridge.  He married to Mary LATT/LOTT on 9 July 1770 in Caddington Parish Church.

61.  Mary LATT/LOTT died after 1790.  John COBB and Mary LATT/LOTT had the following children:

i. John COBB was buried in Sandridge on 2 Aug 1777.

ii. Rebecca COBB was baptized in Sandridge on 12 Mar 1780.
