The building is thought to have been built initially in the 16th Century.	The picture above is believed to have been taken in the early 1900s. The right hand end was The Walnut Tree public house. In the centre is a sweet shop and to the left is the living accommodation for those running the pub. Cunnington's Lighting Centre now occupies the left hand side of the building which was converted initially to a self-contained shop. It now includes living accommodation.
