Maxine CrawleyIntroducing your County Councillor, Maxine Crawley, who was elected on Thursday 4th June to represent St. Albans Rural Division on Hertfordshire County Council. “I would like to thank all those who voted for me and promise that I will do my best for all the residents of both Redbourn and Wheathampstead. I am here to help everyone, so please do not hesitate to contact me to share your views or to bring a problem to my attention. I am planning to hold advice surgeries and will let you know the details of dates and venues once they are booked.” “It is a steep learning curve but I am thoroughly enjoying the challenge. I have been appointed to sit on the Education, Adult Care and Health and Joint Highways Committees. I am also very pleased to be involved in two topic groups to do with youth activity; this was one of the main concerns of people who completed our surveys earlier in the year. I have also been invited to join the District Council’s Overview and Scrutiny Committee as a County Representative on Youth Matters. These groups will enable me to look at ways to improve facilities for our young people.” Heartwood Forest Update - a large number of visitors were able to try their hands at willow weaving, summer sketching, and woodland sculpting as well as enjoy a teddy bears’ picnic at the HeARTwood Festival held at the end of August.
“Please contact them if you would like to sponsor a tree or lend a hand with the planting” said Annie Brewster. |
