WHEATHAMPSTEAD MULTI-TERRAIN 10k/2k – 21st May 2006 - RESULTS SUMMARY
This year saw another record turn out at the Wheathampstead 10k/2k, with 584 finishers in the 10k and around 400 participants in the 2k. Despite a terrible weather forecast, the day started ok with the rain holding off until the race began. Rain in the days leading up to the race meant there were plenty of puddles for the runners to splash through and the course was slippery in places. The 10k, on the new course, saw Sam Pullan recording an impressive 34.40 and winning by well over 2 minutes. The ladies race was dominated by Deborah Steer, whose winning time of 41.04 was almost 4 minutes ahead of her nearest rival.
Congratulations go to the winners of the 2k, Thomas Stead and Sophie Jones, and to all the trophy winners in the 10k who are:
